Middle States Self Study

Welcome to the Catholic University of America's Middle States Self-Study Web Page.

Every ten years, The Catholic University of America conducts a self-study for the purposes of self-evaluation and institutional improvement, as part of the decennial evaluation process set forth by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The self-study process is an integral part of the university's continuing accreditation and an opportunity to strengthen the university through a comprehensive assessment. The accreditation review culminated in April 2010 with the successful completions of the self-study report and a comprehensive evaluation by MSCHE visiting team.

On June 25, 2010, MSCHE reaffirmed accreditation for The Catholic University of America. The commission commended CUA for the quality of the its self-study process and the 171-page self-study report prepared by the university steering committee. The evaluation report of the MSCHE of visiting team as well as the letter of reaffirmation of accreditation can be seen by the following the links provided in the list in the left border.

This web-site is intended to provide a forum for the university community to learn more about Middle States and the self-study process. As such, and in view of CUA’s commitment to self-assessment as a continuous on-going process, information on this site will be updated regularly. It is CUA’s intention to use continuing self-assessment to inform the creation and refinement of the university’s strategic plan.
